Encouraging creative expression and skill-building for individuals from at-risk and underserved communities

Community Makers is a creative partnership program administered by the Textile Museum of Canada and delivered in collaboration with several social agencies in Toronto. This community-engaged program highlights the longstanding connections between craft, social enterprise, and community development and builds on established and new relationships with a number of agencies in the city. Community Makers engages participants in immersive three-session workshops led by professional textile artists and culminates with an exhibition of the participants’ artworks at the Textile Museum of Canada.

Community Makers is supported by the Ruth Mandel WHO Gives Fund, and PGF Directors Charity Fund.

We take a collaborative approach to program design and delivery with the social agencies, artists and other community organizations we work with. Find out more about some recent partnerships here.
