Square by Square Community Quilt Drop In Sessions

FREE
12 to 5 pm

Starting November 26, join us on Sunday afternoons for free weekly drop-in community quilt making sessions at the Learning Hub. We invite you to enter into a conversation with the exhibition The Secret Codes: African Nova Scotian Quilts through the community quilt. Square by Square is a living testament, an evolving work of art meticulously crafted by you and other Textile Museum community members, with each block representing a personal history, connection, and unique story. It is a square-by-square project, symbolizing what our community means to each of us.

The project fosters unity and personal expression, connecting people with diverse perspectives to The Secret Codes: African Nova Scotian Quilts through the Square by Square community quilt. The quilt will be a work in progress throughout the exhibition’s duration, growing and evolving as more participants contribute their stories. The quilt square can reflect a visitor’s experience of the exhibition, our quilt histories, current realities and anything else community members would like to share.

This community program is made possible through the support of the Toronto Friends of the Visual Arts.
