Mending Station Activation: Abi Cudjoe
Join us for a Mending Station activation led by artist Abi Cudjoe, as part of the Eye of the Earth exhibition programming.
This free, mask-mandatory event invites you to take part in fun and accessible ways to repair your textiles. Bring an item of clothing or fabric needing repair, and learn how to mend it using no-sew patches or create an Ankara collage. Abi’s session will be infused with play, experimentation, and creativity, making mending a grounded experience for all skill levels.
Spaces are limited, please email rspiratos@textilemuseum.ca to reserve your spot.
About Abi Cudjoe
Abi Cudjoe (they/them) a multidisciplinary artist practising movement through dance, singing, and visual arts in a variety of mediums.
Their sewing projects are inspired by the need to give new life to items, making life more accessible through practicality, connecting to ancestors, and finding body/gender euphoria. Their visual art and dance practice focuses conversation with kin of all realms and time, through code that extends our common spoken languages. Abi balances artistic expression through an understanding of generational trauma, with generational knowledge and play.
