Facility Rentals

The Textile Museum of Canada rents its dynamic space to like-minded organizations that share our values.

Our flexible reception space and adjoining auditorium are perfect for parties, lectures, screenings, meetings, and special events for up to 75 guests. We offer:

  • A convenient downtown location
  • Linens, coffee urns, chairs/tables, and kitchenette
  • Wi-Fi, large projection screen and audio-visual equipment
  • Free access to the Museum galleries with rental
  • Private tours

Location

At 55 Centre Avenue, we are in the heart of downtown Toronto, steps from St. Patrick Subway Station on Line 1. The nearest intersection is University Avenue and Dundas Street West.

Availability & Booking

Our facilities are available on a first come, first serve basis. To book our space please use this form and if you have question about our space, you can use the form at the bottom of this page to get in touch.

Payment

A rental deposit of 50% of the quoted rental price must be made to confirm your booking. Any additional costs will be included on the final invoice, which will be sent in the week following your event.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be confirmed in writing at least 30 days before your event to qualify for a refund. Cancellations made within 30 days of your event will result in forfeiture of the rental deposit.

Catering

Our preferred catering partners are listed below. Food and drink may be enjoyed in the reception space and auditorium but are prohibited from the galleries. Heat sources must be monitored throughout the event.

Operating out of the Christie Ossington Neighbourhood Centre, Loft Kitchen helps young people experiencing barriers to employment, including LGBTQ+ youth, newcomer and refugee youth and youth living with disabilities, get their first break in the working world.

Liquor Service

If you plan to serve alcohol, you are responsible for obtaining a Special Occasion Permit (SOP), which must be displayed during the event. Please forward a copy of the SOP/liquor liability insurance to the Museum no less than seven days prior to the event. The bar must be monitored by SmartServe certified individuals.
