Mystery Never Looked This Good The Textile Museum of Canada Launches Annual Fundraiser: It’s in the Bag March 21 – 31, 2022
Posted: Mar 14th, 2022 | News

TORONTO, ON... From March 21 – 31, 2022 the Textile Museum of Canada (the Museum) will host its annual fundraising event, It’s in the Bag; a fabulous online auction that celebrates the richness of handmade textiles and spotlights local businesses.

The online auction will begin at 12 pm EST on March 21, and close at 9 pm EST on March 31. Once the auction is live, participants will be able to bid on the one-of-a-kind, hand-made bags containing incredible mystery prizes, fine wines, and more. Crafted by the Museum’s talented team of volunteers, the bags are sustainably made using upcycled textiles, and contribute to disrupting the textile waste cycle. Winners will receive instructions for arranging pickup of prizes from the Museum following the closure of the auction.

Proceeds from the online auction directly contribute to the development of meaningful programs and exhibitions dedicated to exploring the human experience through textiles. Last year, approximately 200 bidders successfully raised over $12,000 to support the Museum.

The Museum offers a rich variety of hybrid online and in-person programming that raises awareness of the role of textiles in sustainable practices, and explores contemporary issues ranging from upcycling and environmental consciousness to personal expression and wellbeing. The Textile Reuse Program within the Learning Hub has diverted over 1,300 pounds of textiles from landfill since its opening on September 15 2021, and has educated hundreds of visitors about sustainable living.

Do not miss the chance to support another year of excellence at the Textile Museum of Canada and be treated to a much-deserved reward.
