Square by Square Community Quilt Workshop with Raz Rotem

General $40, Supporters $35

Join Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist Raz Rotem for a 3-hour quilting workshop as part of the Square by Square Community Quilt programming of The Secret Codes. Participants will be invited to create a square based on the visual narrative of a path. Travel down the secret path of your own life, reflect on the stops along your journey, and conjure ancestral and intergenerational knowledge to reveal your story through quilting. This workshop will explore themes of migration, self-discovery and hope.

Participants will be using appliqué and felting techniques to create a square that they could choose to be part of a larger community quilt that will be in progress throughout the run of the exhibition. Participants will be able to select from traced patterns prepared by the artist or create their own design.

All skill levels and ages are welcome – no prior experience is necessary. All materials are provided. Class size is limited; registration is required.
