March Break Art Camp 2024

Embark on a journey of creativity with our March Break Art Camp, a unique learning experience for young minds. Rooted in textile arts, this three day experience consists of hands-on art-making workshops inspired by our collection objects.

Program Highlights

• Learn about the life cycle of textiles with demonstrations that transform fleece into yarn and beyond.
• Engage in the intricate world of weaving, culminating in the creation of woven artworks. 
• Participate in guided tours of the Textile Museum’s exhibitions The Secret Codes and Gathering.
• Create art through hands-on workshops inspired by the exhibitions and Textile Museum’s collection.
• The participant will collaborate to curate an exhibition with their peers, culminating in an exhibition opening attended by parents and guardians.

Ages: 9-12

9-9:30 am – Drop-off and registration

9:30 am – Camp day begins

9:45 am – First activity

11:15 am – Snack break (15 mins)

11:30 am – Second activity

12:15 pm – Lunch break (1 hour)**

1 pm- Guided tour of exhibition

1:30 pm – Activity inspired by exhibition

3 pm- Snack break (15 mins)

3:15 pm- Activity

3:45-4:15 pm- Pick-up

4:15 pm- Camp day ends – no extended care available

**Please note: Please pack a cold lunch and two snacks. As there is no refrigerator available, we recommend including a cold pack in the lunch box. Please note that peanuts and treenuts are not permitted.
