Level up your sewing practice with our Introduction to Machine Sewing with Alice Hiller. Join us for a hands-on workshop designed especially for first-time and beginner sewers.

In this session, we will learn the fundamentals of using a sewing machine, from setup to stitching with confidence. Through our guided activities you’ll gain the technical skills needed to continue exploring sewing at home and in future classes. We will then apply these skills by sewing a simple drawstring bag to take home.

No prior experience is required, and materials are provided. This class provides a supportive, beginner-friendly environment to build a strong foundation in machine sewing.

This workshop will cover:

  • Winding a bobbin
  • Threading and setting up a sewing machine
  • Starting and stopping stitches to secure seams
  • Turning corners while sewing
