Join Learning Hub Assistant Allie Davis as you make a hair scrunchie together! If scrunchies aren’t your style, Allie will also have suggestions for other ways to upcycle fabric scraps into hair accessories.
This is a hand-sewing activity; no prior sewing experience or machine necessary!
You will need:
– Fabric scraps
– Elastic (at least 9 inches long, ¼ inch wide)
– Sewing needle
– Sewing thread
– Fabric scissors
– Sewing pins
– A thimble
– Tape measure or ruler
– Safety pin
– Chalk or fabric pencil
– Needle-threader (optional)
Your fabric scraps can be quilted together, but the final size should be at least 3 inches wide, and 22 inches long
Techniques:
– Hand-sewing: running stitch and back-stitch
– Patchwork quilting (optional)
All skill levels and ages are welcome. Class size is limited, registration is required.
