Felted Strawberry Workshop With Maria Moreno

Learn how to needle felt strawberries with Maria Moreno!

Strawberries have long been symbols of love and resilience. As we gather near Valentine’s Day, we want to celebrate these symbols while also raising awareness about the ongoing issue of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples.

Join us in creating small strawberry patches and 3D felted pieces to share love as well as bring awareness to Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Trans and Two-Spirit People.

“The strawberry teaches forgiveness and peace. The strawberry is shaped like a heart, and strawberries are known to our people as heart berries.” —Elder Lillian Pitawanakwat*

This is a beginner workshop open to all ages and abilities; All materials will be provided. Space is limited, registration is required.

Reserved community tickets are available, free of charge. Please contact Allie Davis (adavis@textilemuseum.ca) to reserve your community ticket, for questions or accessibility accommodations.
