Embroidery Felt Collage with Khadija Aziz

Ages 8-12

Learn to stitch your own stories on cloth using felt embroidery techniques. One of the fundamental values of storytelling is that it empowers us to share our narratives in ways that are meaningful to us so that others don’t speak on our behalf. This workshop will begin with storytelling and drawing exercises that will inspire ideas to create self-portraits, maps, landscapes, objects, text, or abstract compositions on cloth. Then, participants will learn to draw on and cut felt to stitch them onto fabric to create their own picture story.

All skill levels are welcome, all materials will be provided. For questions and accessibility needs, please contact info@textilemuseum.ca.
