Crochet Cables Sampler Workshop (Intermediate)
Saturday, June 13 | 1-4 PM
$40 | General
$30 | Textile Museum Members
Facilitated by Daria McGuire, this crochet workshop invites participants who are interested in taking their crochet practice to the next level. Designed for crocheters who are comfortable with the basics and are ready to expand their skills through new stitch making techniques.
Participants will explore how post stitches form the foundation of crocheted cables, building both technical understanding and confidence through guided practice.
The workshop introduces the use of crochet symbols to read and follow patterns for front and back post stitches, including double and treble crochet. Through demonstrations and sampling, participants will learn how to work front and back post stitches and how these stitches can be crossed to create simple cable motifs.
Individual support will be provided throughout the session to help troubleshoot and refine techniques.
By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a solid understanding of post stitches and how they are used to create simple crocheted cable patterns, along with reference materials to support continued practice and projects at home.
Crocheters should know how to:
- Read patterns (written or charted)
- Chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet
- Increase and decrease
Previous crochet experience is required. All materials are provided.
