Art of Crochet & Jazz with Legin Knits

Saturday, Feb 17, 2-5:30 pm

Join the team from Legin Knits for a cozy afternoon of elevated creative activity and social togetherness alongside our exhibition, The Secret Codes.

For the first time, Legin Knits will bring their meditative practice to the Textile Museum of Canada’s auditorium space, serenading you with live jazz from Khepe-Ra and The Chmst. There will be a private screening of the Legin Knits short documentary ROOTS CULTURE: The Story of Legin Knits. Where you will get to know more about the man, the myth, the Legin!

This event is meant to enrich your spirit with creativity, harmony and overall well being!

If you are concerned about your crochet skills, worry not! The friendly and supportive Legin Knits team will be there to assist you regardless of your level of experience. It’s all about encouraging you to embrace new beginnings and craft your own unique story. We will provide everything you need to learn how to crochet or you can bring your own project.

So come embrace the therapeutic benefits of crochet, with the joy of live jazz music, art exhibit, food, drinks and more…

“Weaving Consciousness, Uplifting People”

About the Artist:

Legin first learned to crochet from a rastaman in Trinidad 25+ years ago so he could make hats for himself, which he later turned into a business. Legin Knits, a company that specializes in crochet, creates one of a kind, handcrafted items through fashion and art for people and places.

He has expanded his artistry over the years to include silk screen printing, drawing, graphic design, sewing, tufting and punch needle. His commitment to encouraging others to be the source of their own creativity and use it in their daily lives, has evolved into a passion for teaching meditative workshops.
