50th Anniversary Reopening and Reception

The Textile Museum of Canada is thrilled to invite you to celebrate our 50th anniversary and reopening on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 5 PM–9 PM.
Enjoy hands-on textile workshops, loom demos, screenings in our auditorium, and shop refreshed fabrics, yarns, and notions from our Reuse Program.
A social evening follows, with the bar open all night, and Phillippe playing 7–9 PM (quiet hours 5–7 PM).
The night also marks the launch of three major exhibitions reflecting our past, present, and future:
Made by Many: 50 Years of the Textile Museum of Canada
Celebrating five decades of exhibitions and communities that shaped us, featuring works by Bev Koski, Marimekko, Melinda Patterson, Thor Hansen, You Wenfeng, and more.
Taking Shape: Recent Acquisitions (funded by Partners in Art)
Spotlighting new works that expand representation in our collection by Aria XYX, Arnulfo Mendoza, Cristina Brasil Casagrande, Feliciana Bautista, Gabriel Mendoza, Ida Karpik, Jane Kidd, Jontay Kahm, José Miguel Ramirez, Mario Gomez, Miguel Angel Sosme, Orlando Dugi, Samuel Nnorom, and Xaneri Damian.
From Cloth to Code: New Media Responses
