We’re Reopening Because of You! 

We asked our community to raise $150,000 by July 31st so we can reopen stronger than ever, and with your support we did it! We cannot thank you, our generous community members, enough who contributed to our campaign and made it a success.

From Toronto and across Canada coast to coast, all of your donations help preserve 50 years of textile stories and supports our next chapter, with new exhibitions, workshops, and public programs. This includes enhanced inclusivity, more gatherings and digital access for all.

For 50 years, the Textile Museum of Canada has been a gathering space for artists, educators, and communities. It has celebrated global heritage, supported artists and makers, and welcomed generations of members and visitors to learn, create, and connect.  

Our team is working tirelessly to relaunch with new exhibitions and public programs, with our long-standing commitment to equity, sustainability, and care. Thanks to your help, we can reopen this fall stronger and more connected than ever.

• A new Permanent Collection exhibition celebrating 50 years of Textile Museum history, highlighting our 15,000 object textile collection which spans 2,000 years of history  

• Free and low-cost community workshop programs here at the Museum and online  

• Our Reuse Program, which diverts thousands of pounds of textile waste from landfills and provides affordable materials to artists and makers  

• The return of vibrant public programs, from artist talks to social gatherings  

• The upcoming Indigenous Fashion Show exhibition in 2026  

• The continued stewardship of our collection for future generations
