Two-Part In-Person Workshop: Crochet and Granny Squares
Workshop cost: $35 general, $25 for members and students
Join Public Programming Assistant Cecily Ou in a crochet and granny squares workshop! Crochet is a versatile textile technique that interlocks loops of yarn or thread to create a fabric. In this two-part workshop, participants will learn how to create a basic square and a classic granny square to stitch together in creating objects such as bags.
After two sessions, you will have gained the ability to crochet basic or granny squares and stitch them together to create a small bag to take home!
Part 1: Wednesday, July 6, 2022. 4pm-6pm EST
Part 2: Wednesday, July 13, 2022. 4pm-6pm EST
We will provide:
- Yarn
- Crochet hook
- Tapestry needle
You will:
- Learn how to crochet using single and double crochet.
- Learn how to create a basic crochet square and granny square.
- Learn how to use the whip stitch to merge separate square panels.
- Access extra resources to elevate and expand the skills you have gained in this workshop.
