Join Public Programming Assistant Cecily Ou as you learn basic hand embroidery techniques! You will be guided through ten different techniques to help you build a range of skills with a take-home exercise to help you practice. Techniques will include:
- Running Stitch
- Back Stitch
- Straight Stitch
- Stem Stitch
- Satin Stitch
- Chain Stitch
- Detached Chain Stitch
- Woven Wheel Stitch
- French Knots
You will need:
- Medium-sized fabric scraps (around 10 inches long, 10 inches wide)
- Embroidery needles
- Embroidery threads
- Fabric Scissors
- Embroidery hoops
- Chalk or fabric pencil (optional)
No prior experience required.
