Sustainable Textile Teach-In: Capsule Wardrobes

(in-person at the Textile Museum, and streamed live on Zoom!)

SUPPORTED BY: YSM Double Take Thrift Store

Participants will receive a one-time discount code to use at Double Take after participating in this workshop!

Led by Elly Grant and Claudia Kabambi.

Whether styling your wardrobe is an ongoing passion or a new adventure, this sustainable fashion & styling teach-in will walk you through creative ways to style your favourite garment and create lookbooks.

Participants will bring an existing article of clothing they’d like to workshop and brainstorm inventive ways to weave it throughout their wardrobe. This can be your favourite garment or something that you’d like style advice on.

Alongside other participants, we will spend a portion of the teach-in giving styling tips and tricks in a roundtable setting, and the final half we will create styling lookbooks for past, present, and future selves.

This teach-in focusses on revitalizing pieces from your wardrobe to help support sustainable fashion, and will include garments from Double Take Thrift Store to help inspire your capsule wardrobes.

Topics Covered:

  • Fashion styling
  • Sustainable fashion trends & the circular fashion economy
  • Creating lookbooks using collage
  • Finding inspiration for your wardrobe
