Online Workshop: Art of Crochet with Legin Knits and BAND

Join Legin, founder and designer of Legin Knits, as he explores the fundamentals of crochet, roots culture, and efficient ways to support sustainable living. This workshop aims to build personal resilience, exercise patience and wellness, as well as foster a deeper connection with the planet.

This workshop is co-hosted by the Textile Museum of Canada and BAND Gallery and Cultural Centre. BAND (Black Artists’ Networks in Dialogue) is dedicated to supporting, documenting and showcasing the artistic and cultural contributions of Black artists and cultural workers in Canada and internationally. BAND works to encourage dialogue among Black artists, cultural workers and the larger society to inspire, enlighten and educate through the arts.

All levels of experience are welcome.

You will receive an email with the Zoom meeting access link prior to the event

Participants will need the following:

      • Scissors
      • 1 crochet hook. Size 3.50, 3.75 or 4
      • 1 ball of yarn that inspires you to create.  100% Superwash Wool is a great choice
      • Access to a computer with video for Zoom video conferencing. While you do not need a Zoom account to participate, consider downloading the app on your device:  zoom.us

Need Supplies?

You can get workshop supplies from ROMNI Wools (658 Queen St. W). Message (@romniwool), email or call for the “AOC (Art of Crochet) Kit” which includes a crochet hook and yarn for about $20. You can arrange store pick up or have it shipped. (For delivery please order well in advance. Give yourself at least 5 business days) .
