March Break Camp!

March 13-17, 9am-4pm

5 days of activities, $300 per child/$250 per child for Supporters

Limited $75 individual day tickets available

Do you know someone age 7-12 who is interested in learning all-things-fabric? Join us for our March Break camp that indulges their creative side, and teaches them new textile skills! Campers will be weaving, soft-sculpting, creating wearable pieces, making paper, and more!

Monday, March 13: Curator’s Day is about getting to know the Museum, from behind-the-scenes. Our Education Coordinator will bring items from the collection that campers can touch! In the afternoon, they can explore our exhibitions, and talk about their discoveries.

Tuesday, March 14: On Friendship Day, participants will make their own woven bracelet, which they can gift to a friend or family member. In the afternoon, we’ll make “Imaginary Friends” – puppets and dolls made from different fibres and fabrics.

Wednesday, March 15: Earth Day is all about learning to respect our planet. There will be paper-making from scraps, and make a collage from recycled fabrics. Keen students can try making their own patch to decorate and mend their clothing.

Thursday, March 16: On Costume Day, campers will design their own character, and create a costume or accessory inspired by their imagination! At the end of the day, we’ll have a costume parade, and show off the creations.

Friday, March 17: On Family Day, caregivers are invited to an afternoon activity with their camper. They’ll be excited to show off their creations, and make something new, too.

This camp will take place at the Textile Museum of Canada from March 13 to March 17, 9am to 4pm. Campers will be expected to bring their own lunch, and we’ll provide water and snacks. For any questions, please reach out to Allie: adavis@textilemuseum.ca
