Join Toronto artist Krystal Ball in conversation with Curatorial Director Sarah Quinton. They will discuss Ball’s solo exhibition Darkness and Decadence, recently on view at BAND Gallery.  The artist works with a range of textiles and motifs to frame her portraits of Caribbean women pushing back against how they are defined through white colonial ideals. Their conversation will engage the artist’s interest in painting, textiles, and installation – and how these modes of expression influence the form and content of her future studio practice.

Krystal Ball is a Jamaican-born muralist and fine artist currently based in Toronto. She represented Jamaica at an international level at the World Festival for Youth and Students, where she received a medal for her contributions to the festival from the President.
