We offer our unique downtown space for events.

Our central location in downtown Toronto is easily accessed by TTC (one block from St Patrick’s Station). Ideal for celebrations, corporate meetings, lectures, film screenings—we’ll help bring your unique event to life! From captivating exhibitions to interactive activities, we’ve got it all covered for an unforgettable experience.

We have two spaces available for your next event:
The Textile Learning Hub

Capacity: 30 people seated, 100 standing

  • Make your event unforgettable by hosting it in an environment that sparks inspiration and ignites curiosity. Our Learning Hub is a dynamic and engaging space that’s perfect for birthdays, workshops, parties, and more.
  • The light-filled Hub was added to the Museum in 2021, envisioned as a creative community space for exploration and hands-on making with textiles. It also houses our ReUse Program, which has diverted nearly 10,000lbs of fabric and yarn from landfill since opening.
  • Get the Museum all to yourself by booking an evening event, with staff at reception to welcome your guests.
Mezzanine & Auditorium

Auditorium Capacity: 60 theatre style
Reception Capacity: 75 on the mezzanine
Seated Capacity: 30 on the mezzanine

– 60-person auditorium with a large projection screen ready for your next film screening or presentation.
– Audio-visual equipment available on site.
– Adjoining reception area with kitchenette.

Private Exhibition Tours: Knowledgeable staff-guided tours of one of our exhibitions. The Textile Museum has an almost 50-year history of curating engaging and award-winning exhibitions.

Hands-on Activities: Planned activities for any age or skill level. Make your own reusable cloth bunting, learn to mend your clothes, craft your own masterpiece with felt appliqué, and more!

Exclusive shopping events: Special access to our gift shop, including holiday shopping and sneak peeks of new locally made and ethically sourced collections.

Catering

Our preferred catering partners are listed below. Food and drink may be enjoyed in the reception space and auditorium but are prohibited from the galleries. Heat sources must be monitored throughout the event.

We use as much local and organic product as possible. We are vegan and plant based food specialists. We donate untouched surplus catering food to the Toronto Community Hostel. We were the first to use 100% plant based tableware. We are members of 1% For the Planet.

Liquor Service

If you plan to serve alcohol, you are responsible for obtaining a Special Occasion Permit (SOP), which must be displayed during the event. Proof of purchase must be forwarded no less than seven days prior to the event. A copy of the SOP/liquor liability insurance must also be provided to the Museum. The bar must be monitored by SmartServe certified individuals.
