01. Support our
Permanent Collection

The Textile Museum of Canada stewards one of the country’s most globally diverse textile collections, with more than 15,000 objects spanning traditional arts, contemporary fashion, material innovation, and cultural expression from every corner of the world. Managing a collection of this scope demands continuous innovation in conservation, storage, and knowledge-sharing.

Most recently, with the generous support of the Museum Assistance Program (MAP), we are advancing our capacity to care for and store the Kinngait printed textiles, on long-term loan from West Baffin Cooperative or research, exhibition, and cultural preservation.

Your support today fuels these mission-critical efforts, ensuring the collection remains protected, accessible, and sustainably managed for generations to come.

02. Expand Workshops
and Public Programs

Upcoming educational and public programs at the Museum include artist talks, guided tours, collection visits and workshops. A new slate of free community workshops begins in 2026, expanding access to hands-on learning and textile skill-building through the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts: Public Outreach.

Your support allows us to expand on our efforts to keep hands-on learning alive – and most critically to significantly increase our online access to our education and programming activities to benefit communities across Canada.

03. Contribute to
Sustainability Efforts

For over 30 years, our Fabric Sales have been widely-anticipated events – made possible through the generous donations of supporters which as diverted hundreds of pounds of waste from landfills annually. Over the last 5 years, we’ve turned this critical textile sustainability activity into a permanent year-round ReUse program which provides an affordable, accessible way for artists, students, educators, and makers to access high-quality, designer textiles.

Your support allows us to continue to offer free access to all visitors to the ReUse program during the Museum’s public hours, and keeps it staffed by skilled staff, volunteers and student interns.

04. We Reopened Because of You!

We asked our community to raise $150,000 by July 31, 2025 so we can reopen stronger than ever, and with your support we did it! We cannot thank you, our generous community members, enough who contributed to our campaign and made it a success.
