Curator Talk with Amber-Dawn Bear Robe
Sunday, May 3 | 1-3 PM
Pay-What-You-Wish
Join us on May 3 for a special curator’s talk in response to Always in Fashion.
Guest curator Amber-Dawn Bear Robe (Siksika Nation) will be joined by Julia Brucculieri, Curator and Exhibition Manager, for an in-depth conversation on the exhibition Always in Fashion.
Together, they will discus the complex politics of Indigenous fashion, from the challenges of borders, to shifting industry standards such as the CFDA’s stance on fur, to the nuanced realities of intra-community tensions and high-fashion appropriation. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the curators about the ideas, research, and collaborations behind the exhibition.
The Textile Museum of Canada would like to extend our thanks to support from TD Bank Group through the TD Ready Commitment for this program.
