CURATOR TOUR: From Cloth to Code Exhibition

Join Ignazio Nicastro, Director of Development and Programming, for a guided tour of his exhibition “From Cloth to Code: New Media Responses.”

Through the perspectives of nine Toronto-based artists, the exhibition reimagines textile heritage and practices using interactive technologies, sound installations, 3-D printed sculptures, animation, LED neon, and projections. Digitally rendered garments reinterpret the narratives embedded in historic fabrics, while 3–D printed forms meditate on material decay and displacement. Interactive components invite viewers to design digital carpets, while immersive soundscapes trace over diasporic histories. Everyday objects such as rugs and combs are recontextualized to expose colonial legacies and their ongoing relevance.
