You take the cup - it is the rind of a gourd you think - and smell it furtively. It smells a bit like corn. Of course, now you remember! The ancient Andeans made beer out of corn. Can it be that you have been transported back in time to an ancient American beach? It seems impossible, yet here you are and here is the fisherman, smiling as he gestures for you to drink the gourd full of chicha. You don't drink beer - you're too young! - But if you refuse the drink the man may get mad at you.
