Several women and girls are working on making beautifully striped and patterned cloth. An older woman looks as if she is attached by a web of threads to a sturdy pole on the house. You stand nearby, watching the weaver as she pushes sticks back and forth, her hands quickly and expertly moving the threads into position. Near her young girls work, glancing at the older woman often to learn her movements. Nearby a woman spins yarn with a stick that has a whorl in its middle just like the one you have in your pocket.
