WHAT: This ceramic figure of a standing prisoner indicates a man with hands lashed to a short pole behind his back. Body decoration on legs, arms and face is indicated. Otherwise naked, he is adorned with a modest headband and ear-spools. The emaciation depicted, as well as the anguish on the prisoner's face, provide a gripping representation of the ordeals of ancient capture and incarceration.
