WHAT: Vessels with double spouts and bridge handles, such as this one, are a common form in Wari ceramics. The polychrome painting here includes natural elements and abstractions that are typical, such as square-ended appendages. The bird, likely a hawk, on this vessel combines elements of the natural and spiritual world.

HOW: Mould-made with hand-modelled details; slip-painted and burnished.
