Planning Your Visit
We have adjusted our opening hours and will only be open four days a week.
Wednesday to Friday – 11:30 am to 7 pm
Saturday – 10 am to 5:30 pm
Admission will be every hour with our last admission on weekdays at 5:30 pm, and on Saturdays at 4 pm. Please note that your ticket will be valid for 30 minutes past your start time.
Please limit your party to a maximum of 4.
Museum admission is now on a timed-entry basis. All visitors, including members, must pre-book a ticket online to visit the Museum.* Tickets are available on our site, using our new and easy to use ticketing system, please book your visit here.
If you have pre-booked a timed-entry ticket, but are no longer able to visit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
At this time, we regret we cannot accommodate complimentary admission passes or privileges**
Bring a mask. All visitors and staff are required to wear a face mask while in the building. If you do not have a mask, we will have handcrafted masks made by our volunteers available by donation at the reception desk. We are following the City of Toronto By-Law 541-2020. Please contact us at email@example.com if you require any accommodations around mask-wearing.
Please travel light! Our coatroom is currently closed and there is no storage for large bags or suitcases at this time. Backpacks must be worn on your front.
We have a no food or drink policy at the Museum. Our water fountain is currently unavailable, so we will allow water bottles in the Museum provided they remain sealed at all times while in the galleries.
Please self-screen before your visit. If you or a member of your party are experiencing symptoms or think you may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19, please stay home. We’d love to welcome you at a later date.
When You Arrive
To ensure the greatest level of safety, our lobby is limited to two individuals or one party of four at a time. Please be prepared to wait outside with your party until you can see that it is safe to go in.
Please do not come into the Museum if you are feeling sick, you think you may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 or have travelled outside of the country in the last 14 days.
Please have your pre-booked, timed-entry ticket ready on your phone or your confirmation number handy when you arrive.
After checking in, you will be directed to our second floor to start your visit. Please note that our elevator is limited to one individual or party at a time.
Inside the Museum
The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. To ensure best practices, we have increased our cleaning frequency with a continuous rotation of cleaning. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the Museum – please use freely! We highly encourage the use of hand sanitizer prior to entering the Museum shop.
Follow social distancing markers while in the Museum. Contactless payment is preferred at the reception desk and in the shop.
Please follow these guidelines when inside the Museum:
- Stay 2 metre (6.6 feet) away from other visitors not in your party.
- Wear a mask at all times.
- Follow posted health and safety and directional signage.
- Wash your hands often and use the hand sanitizer located throughout the Museum.
- Cough or sneeze in a tissue, if no tissue is available, use your elbow.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Be mindful when using the washrooms and wait for others to exit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What will be available to visitors during re-opening?
Two brand new exhibitions will be available: Anna Torma: Permanent Danger and Distant water will not quench a nearby fire. ᖃᓪᓗᓈᖅᑕᐃᑦ ᓯᑯᓯᓛᕐᒥᑦ Printed Textiles from Kinngait Studios will also be on view, with extended exhibition dates. At this time, the H.N. Pullar Library will remain closed to visitors until further notice.
How will access to the Shop be handled?
During our reopening period, we will be unable to accommodate open visits to our Museum shop – we suggest registering for one of our Pay-What-You-Wish times. If you are interested in a particular item, our Shop Manager is happy to answer any questions you have and arrange for curbside pickup – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Will there be Weekly Tours/Group Tours/etc.?
At this time, in-person tours of the Museum are not being offered. Our education department is working on ways to bring the Museum to you and your group digitally over the coming months – please stay tuned for more information.
How can I book tickets, and will they be available on site?
You can book a timed entry ticket to visit the Museum here. At this time, we are asking all visitors to please pre-book a ticket online before arriving at the Museum. Pre-booking your ticket helps us maintain physical distancing to make your time at the Museum safer for both you and our staff.

How can members access the Museum?
Members can access the Museum by reserving a timed entry ticket using our online ticketing system. All members require a pre-booked timed-entry ticket to visit the Museum.

Are the Museum’s hours changing?
For the foreseeable future, the Museum will be open 4 days a week – Wednesday to Saturday.

Does the Museum have elevators?
The Museum has one small elevator and we ask that visitors leave the elevator available to those who need it. Currently, only one individual or one party of 4 are allowed in the elevator at a time.
Will the Museum be booking facility rentals?
At this time the Museum will not be accepting any facility rental requests. Please continue to check for updated information.
What will your programming be?
At this time, all in-person programming at the Museum has been put on hold. Our education department is continuing to work to bring our programming to you digitally. In the past we’ve hosted Online Workshops, posted Virtual Tours and posted lots of great digital content from our current and past exhibitions. Please keep an eye on our What’s On page to see future programs!
How will your bathrooms work?
Our mezzanine will be closed to the public during our reopening phase. The washrooms on the 2nd level are gender-inclusive and single-use only. Please be mindful before entering the washrooms as they are limited to one visitor at a time. Please ask a staff member if you have any questions about our washroom policy.
Will there be a wheelchair available onsite?
