Wednesday – 11:30 am to 7 pm
Thursday to Saturday – 10 am to 5:30 pm
Advanced ticket reservations will be available on the hour, with our last time slot on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm, and on Thursday to Saturday at 4 pm. Please note that your ticket will be valid for 30 minutes past your start time.
Museum admission is now on a timed-entry basis. All visitors, including members, are encouraged to book an advanced ticket reservation to visit the Museum. Tickets will also be available to book on-site, although space at the time of arrival is not guaranteed. Tickets are available now!
If you have an advanced ticket reservation but are no longer able to visit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you need assistance with booking a ticket, please contact email@example.com or 416-599-5321 during opening hours (Wednesday 11:30 am to 7 pm, Thursday to Saturday – 10 am to 5:30 pm.)
Bring a mask. As outlined in Stage 3 of the Reopening Ontario roadmap, all visitors and staff are required to wear a face mask while in the building. We are following the City of Toronto By-Law 541-2020. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you require any accommodations around mask-wearing.
Please travel light! Our coatroom is currently closed and there is no storage for large bags or suitcases at this time – they will not be allowed in the galleries. Small backpacks and purses must be worn on your front.
We have a no food or drink policy at the Museum. Our water fountain is currently unavailable, so we will allow water bottles in the Museum provided they remain sealed at all times while in the galleries.
Please self-screen before your visit. If you or a member of your party are experiencing symptoms, or think you may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19, please stay home. We’d love to welcome you at a later date.
When You Arrive
Our lobby has limited space, so please be mindful of social distancing regulations and please be prepared to wait outside with your party until you can see that it is safe to go in.
Please have your advanced ticket reservations ready on your phone or your confirmation number handy when you arrive.
After checking in, you will be directed to our second floor to start your visit. Please note that our elevator is limited to two individuals at a time.
Inside the Museum
The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. To ensure best practices, we have increased our cleaning frequency. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the Museum – please use freely!
Air Quality Improvements
We are excited to announce that funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Grant has enabled us to improve the air quality in the Museum. We now have high-efficiency filters (MERV-13) and UV lights installed, bringing the Indoor Air Quality of the building to a standard exceeding the health and safety air quality recommendations.
Please follow our capacity signage while in the Museum.
Contactless payment is preferred at the reception desk, in the Shop. and in the Learning Hub.
Please follow these guidelines when inside the Museum:
- Stay 2 metres (6.6 feet) away from other visitors not in your party.
- Wear a mask at all times.
- Follow posted health and safety and capacity signage.
- Be mindful when using the washrooms and wait for others to exit.
Textile Museum of Canada App
In addition to reopening our physical space, we are also launching a new way to connect with us virtually–introducing the Textile Museum of Canada app!
Use our app to help with wayfinding at the Museum and access exhibition text and labels while maintaining social distancing with other visitors in the Galleries.
The Textile Museum of Canada App will be available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store as of September 15. It will also be accessible as a web app through an internet browser on your phone, tablet, or desktop.
Textile Learning Hub
We are excited to welcome you to our new Textile Learning Hub on the second floor! Our newly renovated space will be the new home for studio activities, our Library, our Life Cycle of a Textile display, and our reimagined Textile Reuse Program, featuring great deals on materials for makers.
New to the Museum, on Wednesday evenings from 5-7 pm, and Saturday afternoons from 2-5 pm, the studio space in the Learning Hub will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for drop-in activities. Access to the space outside of these times will be subject to availability.
We appreciate your patience as we work with new and changing procedures in the Museum. We are prioritizing your experience and the safety of our community. We welcome all feedback! Please email us at email@example.com and let us know how we’re doing.
