Posted: Aug 27th, 2021 | News

Museum admission is now on a timed-entry basis. All visitors, including members, must book an advanced ticket reservation to visit the Museum.* Tickets will also be available to book on-site, although space at the time of arrival is not guaranteed. Please book your visit here.

Bring a mask. As outlined in Stage 3 of the Reopening Ontario roadmap, all visitors and staff are required to wear a face mask while in the building. We are following the City of Toronto By-Law 541-2020. Please contact us at admissions@textilemuseum.ca if you require any accommodations around mask-wearing.

Please travel light! Our coatroom is currently closed and there is no storage for large bags or suitcases at this time. Backpacks must be worn on your front.

We have a no food or drink policy at the MuseumOur water fountain is currently unavailable, so we will allow water bottles in the Museum provided they remain sealed at all times while in the galleries.

Please self-screen before your visit. If you or a member of your party are experiencing symptoms, or think you may have come into contact with someone with COVID-19, please stay home. We’d love to welcome you at a later date.

Before beginning each shift, all employees and volunteers must complete the Ontario COVID-19 self-screening tool and attest that they are healthy enough to enter the building. They have been instructed not to come to the Museum if they feel sick, to follow provincial health guidelines and abide by any self-isolation requirements.

Please wash your hands! The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers, and staff is our top priority. To ensure best practices, we have increased our cleaning frequency. Washrooms with sinks are located on the Mezzanine and 2nd Floor and hand sanitizer is available throughout the Museum – please use freely!

Air Quality Improvements: We are excited to announce that funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Grant has enabled us to improve the air quality in the Museum. We now have high-efficiency filters (MERV-13) and UV lights installed, bringing the Indoor Air Quality of the building to a standard exceeding the health and safety air quality recommendations.

Social Distancing: Please follow our capacity signage while in the Museum.

Contactless payment is preferred at the reception desk, in the Shop. and in the Learning Hub.

Please follow these guidelines when inside the Museum:

  • Stay 2 metres (6.6 feet) away from other visitors not in your party.
  • Wear a mask at all times.
  • Follow posted health and safety and directional signage.
  • Wash your hands often and use the hand sanitizer located throughout the Museum.
  • Cough or sneeze in a tissue. If no tissue is available, use your elbow.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Be mindful when using the washrooms and wait for others to exit.
