IN-PERSON HANDS ON ACTIVITIES
FREE
Join us in the Textile Learning Hub for drop-in activities inspired by the work of the women artists featured in Double Vision! Drop in any time to participate in the activities.
Jessie Oonark and Victoria Mamnguqsualuk both worked with appliqué in the creation of nivinngajuliaat (wall hangings) with felt and wool duffel, depicting people and animals. Appliqué is done by cutting out fabric motifs and applying them to a background fabric with stitching or glue. We will have a few different appliqué methods for you to try, including a felt board with no sewing or gluing necessary.
These activities are family-friendly with something for everyone to try. While you’re at the Museum, visit Double Vision to enjoy the work of these three artists.
