Drop-In Activity: Appliqué Inspired by the Artists of Double Vision
IN-PERSON HANDS-ON ACTIVITY
Join us in the Textile Learning Hub for a drop-in activity inspired by the work of the women artists featured in Double Vision! Come in any time to participate!
Jessie Oonark and Victoria Mamnguqsualuk both worked with appliqué in the creation of nivinngajuliaat (wall hangings) with felt and wool duffel, depicting people and animals. Appliqué is done by cutting out fabric motifs and applying them to a background fabric with stitching or glue.
Appliqué is family-friendly, perfect for everyone to try. While you’re at the Museum, visit Double Vision to enjoy the work of these artists.
