Watch our mask-making webinars. With a focus on non-medical masks for home, family, and donation to frontline workers, we share resources as well as material and pattern options to help you make masks using materials you have on hand. The workshop accommodates different skill levels, and includes sewn and no-sew approaches. Artists Tanya Murdoch and Marnie Saskin demonstrate three US Center for Disease Control (CDC) approved masks and discuss how to choose a pattern when sewing for medical staff. Listen as participants engage in useful and informed discussion. This workshop is co-hosted by the Textile Museum of Canada and Works-In-Progress, with the participation of Building Roots Do-It-Together facilitators and Textile Museum of Canada volunteers.
Donation of Fabric to Mask-Making Initiatives
While we are not currently able to accept fabric donations, the Museum has decided to redirect some of the public’s previous donations for our fundraising sales to mask-making initiatives protecting our communities. Our first donation was to The Sewing Army, on April 9. The Sewing Army was created by Toronto fashion designer Diana Coatsworth in response to the shortage of personal protective equipment for healthcare, frontline, and essential workers during the COVID-19 crisis. The Sewing Army brings together sewers, makers, and helpers across North America to sew face masks and scrub caps for organizations in need. Read more in the Toronto Star
Since then, we have been able to make more donations to the following individuals and organizations: Canada Sews, Hoax Couture, Project Northern Lights, Woodsworth Coop Mask Makers, Jeannie Chan & Pak Soon, and Montreal-based artist Emily Jan. We are responding to additional donation requests as we are able. Your generosity will now play a part in keeping our communities and frontline workers safe – thank you!
Due to COVID-19, May’s Textile Bazaar is cancelled. Revenue generated from this sale is an essential part of our annual fundraising, and this loss will have an impact on the Museum. You can help sustain us during this difficult time by donating. All gifts, large and small, are welcome.

From what I have been able to see, excellent! BUT:
I tried to watch the middle video but could not get past the 11:08 minute mark….the video just stopped and the circle went round and round for a good 20 minutes till I gave up. (I will try later, too).
So a SUGGESTION: To avoid this stalling problem, post a less than 5 minute excerpt of just making the T-shirt with the tiger from the marking of the t-shirt to the tieing on. This will be especially useful for those with NO sewing skills and NO sewing machines.
(I have made masks and would like to send the video of the t-shirt option to friends who have no sewing skills or resources.)
